The World POPS Meet and Championship is a two-yearly event, in which Parachutists Over Phorties can participate. The history of the World Pops Meet you can find on the site: www.thepops.org/world/index.php In 2012 the World POPS Meet and Championship will take place in the Netherlands for the eleventh time.
The Parachutists Over Phorty Society held its first POPS World Meet in 1989 in Australia and the second was in 1993 hosted by Skydive Orlando at Umatilla in Florida, USA. The third POPS World Meet was in Spain in 1995 at the Centro de Paracaidismo de Costa Brava in Empuriabrava in the Catalan area. At that meet, Mike Allum of the UK was appointed by the Top Pops as the first World Top Pop with specific responsibility for arranging the next POPS World Meet. 
During this World POPS Meet and Championship the decision of the Top-POPS of the participating countries is made to held the eleventh World POPS Meet and Championship in Holland.
